Join Choying Khandro and your fellow practitioners for the annual online Dakini’s Whisper Cho Monlam Prayer Festival hosted by Tara Rose.

During these challenging times, we wish to bring together our innately kind and compassionate human hearts and offer our prayers to all beings. In honor of our root teacher, H.H. Khalkha Jetsun Dampa Rinpoche, Dakini’s Whisper welcomes you to this auspicious Monlam Prayer Festival.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Jetsun Dampa’s Parinirvana. Khandro-la will offer Machik Labdron Empowerment for the 1st time. We are inviting Osel Rinpoche and Thuksey Rinpoche from Mongolia to attend part of this weekend's online retreat! Osel Rinpoche is the official successor of both the Ear-Whispered Lineages of Cho–Ganden and Dakini. Thuksey Rinpoche is Khalkha Jetsun Dampa's eldest son. –  We will keep you informed!

Monlam – the Great Prayer Festival – was established in 1409 in Tibet by Lama Tsongkhapa, the grandest Tibetan religious tradition of Prayer Mass during the Spring Festival (Losar, New Year). The fervent willful praying eliminates harm, adverse conditions, and obstacles to the Dharma. For the benefit of all beings, we pray for the long life of all holy Gurus and world peace.

GUIDANCE FOR PARTICIPANTS

These requests and suggestions are intended to deepen your experience and to help our time together flow.

  • This is a sacred and auspicious occasion. Consider your participation, internal and external, to create a meaningful experience.

  • Observe silence as much as possible.

  • Stay present while online. Being intentionally focused online sometimes can be difficult, and yet it also impacts how you, and potentially others, experience the event.

  • For our teacher and each other, please observe these Zoom courtesies:

  1. Arrive 5-10 mins early so you are ready when Khandro-la arrives.

  2. Keep your audio MUTED unless speaking.

  3. Indicate your name as your Zoom name so we can be clear about who is with us.

  4. Keep your video on to experience a connection with our teacher and fellow pilgrims.

  5. Use the raise hand function (part of the Zoom platform) during sharing and Q&A time.

Please review the schedule carefully and do your best to plan for breaks, so you can be fully present and minimize 'comings and goings' during sessions. If you are attending parts of the Festival and not all of it, please plan to arrive before the beginning of a session and not after it has begun.

If you have any questions, please contact Ellen at dakiniswhisperteam@gmail.com
