    Trul khor or Tsa Lung

    in Ask Khandro-la

    Hello my root Guru.

Will the cycles of SBT teaching for next year include Trul Khor or Tsa Lung?

These physical practices that are very much not just physical.

I met elements of Trul Khor or Tsa lung, in my very limited understanding In the SBT classes of the Dakini, that we did with you recently. Saw similar movements, fresh new movements as well.

Just looking to find deeper practice, with this physical body with lineage practices.

    Thank you

Thank you I am so grateful to be connected to an authentic lineage and have an authentic root Guru. In an age where information is plentiful but not the process of sequence, or these deeper needs I do not know about. I am just so grateful to have you in my life and practice Khandro La

I do a few of the Trulkor Magic Wheel exercises I learned in SB in the morning before my daily practice. Of course, it's impossible to pinpoint any direct result, however, I experience a cleansing and opening into the sadhana and especially the self-generation as Vajrayogini. I look forward to learning and integrating more. I wonder how others thinking about this?

This is my response to Dan's original question. It seems the folks don't see this. So I'm reposting it here.

Thanks for asking about the topic of these Tibetan psycho-physical exercises. I have a few things to say about this subject as a modern practitioner as well as one who holds this lineage. This is a bit of a long answer... but I am just trying to get my thoughts expressed on this topic which is often confusing and deserves clarification.

In general, these Tibetan exercises we may see and practice nowadays are very beneficial on physical and mental levels. That's why people do yoga in these modern times. They are a great contribution to samsaric health! However, if we are looking for genuine realization and transformation that leads to Buddha's awakening, this is not enough. If it were, more awakened or awakening ones would be produced on a mat or flour. If it was, how come transformation is not happening to us yogis and yoginis on a deeper level?

From the traditional point of view where the goal is removing the veils and actualizing the full embodiment, we are required to practice these Tibetan psycho-physical exercises as an integral part of a journey with a greater purpose. It is the same as any tantric practice where without linkage to a lineage, no practice, and without practice, no realization.

Yes, in the Ear-Whispered Lineage we have a set of numbers of basic exercises, discreetly transmitted from Manjushri to Lama Tsongkhapa and onwards up to our current generation. These exercises are more or less the same as the ones in other traditions. The Ear-Whispered Trulkor (magic wheel) exercise has been introduced in the context of entering the completion phase of the tantric journey. In other words, the Trulkor Magic Wheel is a bridge to the first yoga of the Six Yogas of Naropa, the Fierce Fire Lady (Tummo) practice.

It means that we need to prepare by creating ourselves as one of the highest yoga tantra yidams, Heruka or Vajrayogini in our tradition. This is called the Creation Phase or Generation Stage, the 1st phase of tantric practice. This is the practice stage where we need to invest most of our time and energy in daily life. In fact, this sequential approach is the "shortcut" to come to deeper transformation in Trulkor and a further advanced Tsalung journey. This traditional approach has validity for genuine transformation to unfold. (We can see many proofs in our lineage masters' life stories.) The Completion Phase realization depends not on how many new exercises we do but on how much we prepare ourselves in the Creation Phase. So don't skip it!

In SBT, we are gently introduced to all these tantric elements of modalities to work with multi-layers of being, human and spiritual dimensions. With this understanding, my answer to your question "Will the cycles of SBT teaching for next year include Trulkor or Tsalung?" is YES. When we prepare ourselves, tantra reveals itself. DW is following the footsteps of great masters who tread this journey and come to the deepest realization. The sequential approach with the openness that is adaptable to modern yogis and yoginis is the quickest way.
