- Dakinis At Your FingertipsAnother profound and joy filled practice. Choose a starting point - if deciding which single place is difficult and distracting, choose both and start with a bridge between them. That's a very valuable insight for me, and exactly the path I took in this session. Starting from a flowing line of found objects connecting two puddles. Repeated the shape with lines in the sand. Added extra bubble / crab holes in the sand around one puddle, then a circle of yellow mangrove leaves around the other. Banal in description, absorbing and reflective in practice. Lo and behold! A feminine figure has appeared. I gave her a gnarled wooden staff to hold. The further puddle reflects the sky. The nearer holds earth and water. I see something of the Christian Mother Mary here in the tilted face, surrounded by (dark) stars. The staff brings to mind the Tarot Ace of Wands, symbolising origin, source, beginnings, family. My Dakini emerged in a liminal landscape Tidal sand flat - neither land nor water Even in the twenty minutes I spent playing here, the water drained away from the puddles. Reflection and absorption Grey morning - both sun and rain greeted her Space and matter - found objects plus holes and lines in the sand. She reminds me to seek her in the subtle spaces between - places of both/and, rather than either or. A priceless experience, affirming and encouraging me on my own path. Thank you Shona Wilson and Choying Khandro for creating and guiding this immersive event enabling access to the joyful Dakini at my Fingertips.
