Course Description
Vajrayana (Tantric) Buddhism is often romanticized in the modern world as a path of spontaneous, rule-breaking freedom. However, the true gateway to tantric realization is built upon a profound and rigorous ethical container. This 5-week course explores Lama Tsongkhapa’s masterpiece on tantric morality, Fruit Cluster of Siddhis (translated as Tantric Ethics).
Students will discover how Tantric vows (samaya) are not arbitrary restrictions, but psychological safety harnesses designed to protect the practitioner as they work with the intense energies of the Vajrayana path. By examining the root downfalls, secondary vows, and methods of restoration, we will explore how ancient codes of conduct hold the key to deep spiritual transformation in the modern world.
