In these times of challenge and loss, we are inspired by the vision for our upcoming year-long book club, which will explore grief, compassion, shadow work, and Buddhist practice, drawing on the wisdom of Francis Weller, Shantideva, and Machik Labdrön. This book club is envisioned as a ritual-infused, contemplative space—a container to hold the raw, tender, and often unspoken aspects of the human experience within a Dharma context.
In our modern world, communal spaces for grieving and deep reflection are often missing—and even within Dharma communities, such themes are sometimes overlooked. We believe this will be a precious opportunity to explore these essential human experiences together, rooted in the view and practice of the Dharma.
Below is a suggested plan for the year.
