đ Recovery of the Mother's Mind: The Original Prajnaparamita Roots of Machik's Chö

âThe root devilry is oneâs own mind.Â
The devil lays hold through clinging and attachmentÂ
in the cognition of whatever objects appear.âÂ
â Machik Lapdrön, The Great Bundle
We invite all eligible DW members to a profound new series dedicated to exploring the source texts of Chö. Before the bells, drums, and elaborate visualizations of the charnel ground became famous, the original teachings of Machik Lapdrön were grounded in the radical view of PrajñÄpÄramitÄ (Perfection of Wisdom) and the non-meditation of MahÄmudrÄ.
Drawing on early source materials, this series will explore the "Severance" that Machik actually taughtâa practice less about culinary ritual and more about the direct resolution of dualistic fixation.

What We Will Explore
In this monthly 2-hour journey, we will analyze the earliest recorded "Bundles" (bKaâ tshom) and Indian source "Ground Verses" (Tshigs bcad chen mo) to ground our practice in the authentic View:
Chö as MahÄmudrÄ: Discover why early texts emphasize signature phrases like "clear light" and "mental non-engagement" over complex visualization.
Redefining "Severance": Understand Chö not as a physical act, but as the semantic explanation for severing the five toxic emotions, extremes of view, and hopes and fears.
Facing the True Demon: Move beyond external spirits to face the "MÄra of obstruction"âthe internal blockages and ego-clinging that constitute the true "devil's work".
The Original Instruction: Study the texts where Machik teaches us to "rest the mind in the way of the sky" and remain "serenely limpid".
Why Join Now?
This series is the essential foundation for our upcoming path. As we prepare the ground for the Chö, Machik, and Padampa Empowerments this April, it is vital to return to the source. By understanding the core principleâthat "the inferior offer their body aggregate as food" while the superior "rest in the nondual meaning of it all"âwe ensure these empowerments are received with the highest possible view.
New & Existing Members: Whether you are already enrolled in the MahÄmudrÄ Chö Journey or are joining us for the first time, this series will provide the essential grounding needed to deepen your practice.
Join us to sever the root of confusion and rest in the Motherâs wisdom.
