ABOUT THE RETREAT

This year's annual retreat for Dakini's Whisper 2020 will take place online. Amid health concerns and a global crisis, we will delve into the powerful practice of "Chö Tsok in Conjunction with Vajrayogini ("Vajrayogini Chö Tsok")." This practice is rich, entailing - the Chö (Chod) offering of your own most attached body to all beings and Feast (Tsok) offerings. These are powerful and skillful means to accumulate tremendous positive force and purify our negative karma. We also invite into our presence and celebrate all awakened beings, especially, Vajrayogini, the deity who becomes more potent in degenerated times.

Vajrayogini Chö Tsok practice is the practice for this time of crisis and will be the focus of the Year Two Chö Mastery Journey. If you are new to Vajrayana, this will be an excellent way to expose yourself to the wonderous Vajra world. Once you receive the scriptural and musical transmissions, you can join the Dakini's Whisper monthly group practice of Tsok Feast offering on the Dakini days. This is when, as a group, we exercise and celebrate the pure view of dakas and dakinis while dedicating the entirety of positive potential to the happiness of all beings.

In this online retreat, Khandro-la will offer the scriptural and musical transmissions and commentary on the text: "Chö Feast Offering in Conjunction with Venerable Kechara Queen [Vajrayoginî] Entitled A Joyful Feast Accomplishing Kechara Dakini Land." This precious and beautiful practice comes from the unbroken stream of blessings of the Ear-Whispered Lineage and is one of the Khandro-la's favorite practices.

All students with refuge are welcome to join this retreat. Students in the Chö Mastery Journey are required to attend the full retreat (Thursday - Sunday) to receive the complete transmissions and commentary since this will be one of the primary practices during Year Two. All students in the Dakini Journey are also welcome. This year's online retreat brings Chö Mastery students, Dakini students, and DW members together and reflects the common bond shared by the students who are walking this particular path together.

RETREAT PROTOCOL

This is a closed retreat (tsam). Retreat in the Tibetan tradition has a strong connotation of boundaries, even when held online. Thus, the boundaries that define a retreat; including entering and leaving the border are essential transitions to be respected. We would strongly recommend that students who do not live alone make an effort to participate in the retreat away from the regular householder routine.

STRUCTURE OF THE RETREAT

Practically, this retreat involves four sessions per day – two as a group online and two on your own. The schedule is designed to make attendance flexible enough for students in various time zones across the globe to participate in the retreat without having to push their sleep and waking routine.

A regular retreat is a crucial element for serious Vajrayana practice. This program is a meaningful way of fitting a retreat into everyday life while drawing upon the support and inspiration of the teachings, the teacher, and the sangha. It will allow students to prepare, explore, and develop confidence in running their own private retreats.
